The majority of the pictures in these albums were taken using one of three digital cameras. In addition a few conventional photos have been scanned and included to add detail.
Using a VGA Pen Cam from Dick Smiths to check the feasibility of the project, some very grainy images were produced that are really of a very poor quality, but I've included them just for completeness.
This camera was used during the very early stages of the research for this book, and was quite quickly replaced by a better-quality unit.
Nonetheless, the images do give some impression of what you can expect along the way.
Next came the Kodak DC3200. This upped the quality quite dramatically, having resolutions up to 1 megapixel. Quite a few of the photos here were taken on this economy camera.
However, I then acquired the Sony DSC-S30.
This camera is pretty much everything I needed for this job. A 1.3 megapixel resolution is more than adequate (the best images here are only 800 x 600).
Regrettably, during my adventures along Thompson's Track I lost this much-prized camera. Worst of all, I lost all the pictures for that day.
Thanks to State Insurance for promptly paying out so that I could replace it — the shots, however are gone forever...That is of course unless you find my camera along Thompson's Track!
